A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, Mekisha Smith Creal is the newest addition to Jacqueline Scott & Associates, APLC. Mekisha is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, in Monroe, Louisiana, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.

Mekisha received her Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center, Cum Laude, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. There, she served as the 2010-2011 Editor-in-Chief of the Southern University Law Review where her note, "Mama Didn't Raise No Fool: A Fit Mother's Right to Manage Grandparent Visitation" was published in the Spring 2010 edition. Mekisha was a pupil of the American Inns of Court and served in the inaugural class of the Southern University Law Center Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Law Fellows.

Mekisha is a member of the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the Shreveport Bar Association. She was admitted to practice law in Louisiana in 2011.
