What can you do to stay safer on an oil rig job?

Each day, hundreds of oil workers like yourself, undertake a variety of physically strenuous and dangerous tasks. Whether you are new to the oil industry in Louisiana, or have years of experience performing responsibilities on the rig, you may benefit from learning more about what you can do to stay safe on the job.

Items may be left behind following a procedure

Millions of people across the country enter the operating room each year, both for simple procedures and more complicated operations. While most expect to leave the OR in better shape than they entered, many do not anticipate leaving with a surgical souvenir that was mistakenly left inside their bodies. Although this may seem unheard of, at least 4,000 cases involving retained surgical items occur in the U.S. every year. Surgeons and other operating room staff may inadvertently leave a surgical sponge, or other piece of equipment behind in an operating site and suture before removing those items.

When it comes to criminal charges and convictions in Louisiana, the fewer you have, the better. After serving your time and dealing with the consequences associated with your situation, you may be ready to put everything behind you and move on. Today's society is not too forgiving of people who have criminal records. Fortunately, you may be able to wipe your criminal record clean with expungement.

Birth control recall due to packaging mistake

Women across Louisiana and the nation should take a look at their birth control. WRAL reports that a pharmaceutical company has issued a recall on a lot of birth control pills that have been placed into the package incorrectly. The lot at issue put placebo pills into the wrong order, which could put those taking the medication at risk of unintended pregnancy.
